Ceremony and Celebrations

There are three rooms licensed for civil ceremonies in Marwell Hall with a maximum capacity of 80 people.

The Long room is an elegant room named after Sir William Long who, in 1816, created Marwell Hall as we see it today. Graced by tall mullioned windows, impressive fireplace and decorative cornice, this large room, entered by grand doorways, will make the perfect setting for your ceremony. (Capacity 80)

The Woodlock room is an airy room, with a deep bay mullioned window. The medieval Hall was a timber structure which remains the core of the building today. Over many centuries different owners, who all played their part in our history, have added rooms to the Hall. In the 21st Century these now find a new use as a delightful setting for your ceremony. The Seymour Library is a distinguished room whose ornate fireplace bears the coat of arms and motto of the Seymour family. Marwell Hall was owned in the mid-1500's by Sir Henry Seymour. He was the brother of Jane, Henry VIII's third wife. The room is partly panelled and lined with library shelves and the attractive ceiling has appropriate decorative details, large windows and impressive doorways. (Capacity 40)

What's on offer

The fee for holding a civil partnership ceremony at Marwell Hall is £1,800 plus VAT for Monday to Friday ceremonies and £2,000 plus VAT for Saturday and Sunday ceremonies. This includes admission to the park and, because we only book one ceremony per day, your guests can take their time to enjoy their surroundings and take some wonderful photographs. We regret that we are unable to offer ceremonies on Bank Holiday weekends.

Whilst we are unable to offer formal receptions, we can arrange an informal barbeque or buffet. However, you will need to leave the zoo by at closing time : 4 p.m. in winter, 6 p.m. in summer.
